As someone who had lived and worked in Ukraine for 20 years including one year in Donetsk 004-2005, I find this chilling reality highlights the brutal nature of this war, where human lives are used as pawns in a larger strategy.
It's heartbreaking to think of soldiers, many of whom may not even understand the full context of the conflict, being sent to certain death.
