As someone who's been in SEO and building niche websites on and off since 2009, I totally get your article.
My sites have really taken a dive this past year, just when one or two made a few slight comebacks, then another algo update hits.
I've still kept a few in my portfolio, one of which is still monetized through Mediavine, but basically, I'm done.
SEO is voodoo science as far as I'm concerned and anyone who claims otherwise is either a liar or fooling themselves or worse, trying to fool others.
The truth is, no one knows how to truly rank, except Google and they don't share that info with anybody.
If SEO's really knew, they certainly wouldn't be helping others, but would be ranking themselves for keywords like "Best Credit Card" and retire on an island next to Sergey Brin in the Caribbean...
However, I do understand how the pressure to see quick results in SEO can often lead to cutting corners or relying on tactics that might work short-term but risk long-term penalties.
Your commitment to steady, organic growth is admirable, especially in an industry where "get rich quick" schemes seem to pop up constantly.
It’s a reminder that patience, consistency, and integrity may pay off in the end. Even if it is SEO Voodoo science... lol..
Thanks for sharing!
