Haven't used Lonely Planet in years. I used to really enjoy their travel shows in the 80s and 90s. My first inspirations for indulging my Wanderlust...

Reviews are always tricky. Airbnb reviews have a good mix, but I feel people hold back as to not discourage hosts from hosting them. Booking is no holds bared.

In general, people are quicker to leave a bad review than a good one in anything.

I tend to only either leave stellar reviews regardless of platform or none at all.

Only, if I truly feel ripped-off would I leave a negative review... Hasn't really happened yet....

Disappointed a few times, sure, but that's more a matter of managing my own expectations....

Only one time, and to be honest, it was only for a one night stay and after wrangling around with Airbnb half the next day, it just wasn't worth it.

I do believe in Karma...
