I appreciate your take on this. Although my first relationship ended amicably, my second one overseas, not so much.

I had the choice of leaving or staying. But by that time I had already built a new life, I was finally enjoying my work and the break up actually opened up a whole new set of possibilities and social life.

Plus, learning a foreign language, a new culture and mentality as well as navigating it was rewarding.

The after-effects of the relationship far outweigh the actual relationship.

So to make a long story short. No regrets.

Breakups are normally bad no matter if it's at home or in another country. It's how you choose to move on is the most important.
