I do remember the old bar in ploschta Lva Tolstogo Metro station right outside its doors in the underpass. I missed the Vodka vendors though, but it makes perfect sense.
I also found it funny that Ukrainians and Russians oftentimes, especially "bums", are portrayed in American movies drinking Vodka straight from a bottle. Never, ever did I see that happen. Even the poorest of the poor always found at least a paper cup to pour it into.
I traveled by train in Ukraine quite often and I was fortunate enough to have my employer once in a while buy out the cabin for me. I didn't have the conductor try selling me back those seats though, but I started traveling by train for work in 2005, so maybe they stopped that practice, especially after the Orange Revolution...
I do remember a pretty young lady coming offering to sell me a bottle of champagne 🍾 lol and her company, or so it was implied, lol. I do have an interesting story about my first long distance train ride in Ukraine in 1998 that I plan on writing about...
What I remember most though are those cool , old style tea and coffee cups the served in they mornings)
