I really enjoyed how you describe the unique relationship between the cats and the people of Istanbul.

It’s amazing to think about how the cats exist in this in-between space, not quite wild, but not fully owned either.

It’s such a contrast to how pets are typically seen elsewhere, where ownership is a defining characteristic.

This dynamic makes the city feel like it’s cohabited by two equally important populations: humans and cats.
