Lol ๐Ÿ˜†... Well, I believe you were in TEFL too, right? If you were, you know what a pain it is for a school to replace a teacher who's done a "runner" lol. So, he said what he felt he needed to say I guess. And, he did have a point.

But the main reason I had stayed was, first I didn't want to leave them high and dry. The school actually paid for my CELTA, although I had technically finished my end of the agreement when I completed my first year.

Second, I was just getting used to the place and to just pick up and move to start all over again just didn't make sense... Sometimes I look back at my 3 year relationship, the first year was long distance.

I had met her while I was on a humanitarian trip in 1998, went back to the States for 9 months to save up some money to move back to be with her... I missed her so much I even went back once for 2 weeks to see her during that period. I had to get a 1 month Visa at the time, just to make that one trip. Crazy!

I used to fax her so many letters through her father's fax machine it ate up all his special fax machine paper..lol .

But it was only after we broke up and I stayed, got into teaching and really began to experience life over there that I realized how toxic our relationship truly was..

Sure, my boss had a point, but moving to and living in a new country just to date the women, it's like moving to a country because you like the food. The novelty wears off quickly.
