Not if it's an emergency, they usually stabilize the patient and deal with all that after.

Hospitals actually write off a lot of those types of cases, unless they can pawn it off on a government program like medicaid or something.

On the other hand, if you have assets that they, or a collections agency can go after, that's a different story....

Let's put it this way, over 500,000 Americans declare bankruptcy every year due to medical related expenses....
