But yeah, I agree with your assessment. I just can't wrap my head around it. Both as a platform and the monetization.

Why pay $5 per month for on writer on Substack when you can pay $5 per month for thousands here on Medium alone?

And don’t get me started on all the writer/productivity/make money online gurus from right here on Medium who are constantly singing its praises and ramming it down our throats.

In fact, why would or should I pay or even subscribe to their Substacks when their content is either straight copy and pasted right from Medium or copy and pasted with a few tweaks?

I'm with you on this one. I don't get the whole Substack bandwagon myself.
