Probably not...lol.. I've been fortunate enough to not have experienced that. But, they will give you an emergency appointment, possibly the next day or at least advise you on what you should do.

Let's put it this way, US embassies around the world number one priority are to serve the US government and its interests, not its citizens. It's citizen services are an appendage of that, nothing more and certainly not the main purpose of their existence....

Unfortunately, most Americans think they are one and the same, which sadly they are not....
