I agree with you on the needs for more affordable hotels with kitchenettes.

As far as Airbnb, I truly believe that the whole short term rental issue could be solved by only allowing a landlord to have 1 or 2 short term rentals.

The real problems are real estate investment groups that have multiple, sometimes even hundreds of these properties.

They aren't good for the locals or for Airbnb guests either.

I do find myself booking more through booking.com and keeping the phone numbers of Airbnb hosts that I've had great experiences with and arranging any future visits directly with them off the platform..
