The desperation it takes to resort to drinking the blood of fish and turtles really puts the human instinct for survival into perspective.

It’s amazing how the body can adapt in such extreme conditions, but even more incredible is the mental strength needed to push through those days when it didn’t rain, and resources were so scarce.

It’s a stark reminder of just how much we take clean water and basic sustenance for granted in everyday life.
