This has been my experience. Spammy DMs, and worse, the contact requests from crypto scammers and those pig butchering scammers from SE Asia with their obvious phoney profiled....
I do believe it has utility, but in the end it's a social media platform, like Facebook, Substack, even Medium...
They all take a while to learn, then master and you truly never "own" your audience, they do, along with the right to ban you without cause or recourse.
Sure, use them to get your name out there, build your personal "brand" network etc. But get them off the platform as soon as possible to your own website and email list...
