This is practically my story. Did niche websites for 5 years full on, on and off for 10.

Starting in August 2023, a series of Google updates decimated my portfolio. I can't believe I put all my trust in an opaic platform like Google. Terrible business model.

I'm pivoting now. Medium is one of my first steps. I'm finally writing in my own voice as I am using Writing as a way to discover my new direction going forward.

But going forward I know this, I will never trust any one platform or monetization model for my livelihood, even Medium...I will use them, but never again will I put all my eggs in one platform's basket.

Ironically, my main site that got hit is starting to make a comeback after the June 21st update.

First time ever, I've had a site actually benefit and reverse course from one of these updates.

Still, I'll keep it and milk it for what it's worth as a bonus, but I'm done.
