This line really cuts to the chase of the issue.

It suggests that for some voters, the decision to stay silent or claim indecision reflects a deeper discomfort with aligning publicly with certain values that Trump embodies, yet still feeling embarrassed to do so...

In fact, in today's political discourse, both in media and amateur political punditry, it's actually easier to hide than ever.

As if to say, "why bother?" What's in it for me for expressing my opinion. In countries such as Russia and China, the personal risk comes too high for those who do.

But in a country with "free speech", many feel even more powerless to do so because they know that their opinion will piss some off and actually make their opponents feel even stronger in their opinions or simply go into the ether....

Though you make a compelling point about how political support can be shaped by social pressures and moral conflict, which makes it more than just a vote, it’s a statement about one's values in a broader societal context.

Thanks for sharing!
