Tipping has gotten way out of control!

Thank God I live in Europe and when I go out to eat in a restaurant if the services good I normally just round up.

Not only that but even a simple round up is greeted with much more appreciation by servers in Europe than the unspoken yet obligatory 20% tip that US servers feel they are entitled to.

The thing about most European restaurants is that taxes and any other type like VAT's are included in the price on the menu.

When you get your bill in Europe, unlike in the USA. what you see is what you get.

Whereas in the USA the price on the menu is not the price you pay at the end when you get your bill. Tax is added on top of the price you see on the menu, then of course there is the obligatory tip.

Many businesses are shooting themselves in the foot with this out of control tipping culture as many potential customers are choosing to forego restaurants, bars and cafes more and more in favor of eating at home.

It will be interesting to see where this whole out of control tipping trend leads to.

Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
