Although I've never been a parent, single or otherwise, it’s refreshing to hear someone cut through the romanticized labels and just acknowledge that taking care of your child isn’t something “noble”, it’s just what you do.

You bring up an important point about how we often hold dads, especially single ones, to a different standard than moms, which just shows how deeply ingrained certain expectations are in our culture.
