Yes Chingmay, haggling in the US isn't very common. I actually had to learn it when I moved to Ukraine back in 1999. Mostly to negotiate with gypsy taxi drivers.

Long before rideshare apps, in Kyiv, you could flag down any car going in your direction, tell them where you were going and agree on a price.

But, I had to learn enough Russian first...lol. Great way to help learn and practice a foreign language though...
