Your reflection on feeling isolated in a central, busy area really spoke to me as a long-term Expat and Traveler.

It’s funny how you can be surrounded by activity and still feel like an outsider, especially when the language barrier adds an extra layer of distance.

I can imagine that contrast must have been both frustrating and fascinating, all wrapped into one.

That said, it’s awesome that you embraced the challenge of learning more Portuguese.
